A celebration of the fight for justice by Andrea Constant against Bill Cosby. She’s one of the first to bring a successful sexual violence prosecution against such a well known, powerful man, and its shocking how much effort it took. Hopefully it won’t be so hard for those that follow after her.
New Zealand is not unusual in having a low conviction rate for sexual violence crimes, nor is it unusual in retraumatising victims in sexual violence cases. This zine examines the criminal justice system response to sexual violence in New Zealand, and explores the bumpy road to reform. It is informed by interviews with a crown prosecutor, defence counsel, a court support advisor and a campaigner to end sexual violence.
